Hybrid Subscribers is a unique solution that provides individuals, families, and corporations a flexible solution for managing mobile usage and payment methods. The Hybrid Subscribers solution permits the customer to use both postpay and prepay modes on the same mobile handset. It also permits customers to switch between these modes with a quick USSD command.

Hybrid Subscribers offers great convenience and flexibility to the subscriber. Instead of carrying two handsets for their private and business accounts, they can switch between the two accounts on the same handset. Imagine!

For example, a budget conscious postpay customer may set a monthly usage limit (currency or minutes). While they are under the pre-set limit usage is automatically charged to their postpay account. During this period they have the ability to select prepay as their payment method using USSD for certain calls if desired. When a threshold arrives the Hybrid Subscribers solution automatically sends them a reminder USSD message that they have reached their limit. When they have exhausted this monthly usage pre-set limit their calls and messages are automatically routed to their prepay account for charging.

In large corporate scenarios managers can set spending limits for a corporation, a group within the corporation, or even a particular subscriber within a group. The manager also has the option to turn off the employee’s ability to switch between different payment methods. Once a limit is reached, that user is automatically switched to his or her own prepay or postpay account and may continue to make calls or send messages.

In a similar fashion parents are able to limit a teenager’s mobile usage on the family’s shared minutes account and ensure their child does not surpass a desired pre-set amount all the while allowing them use a prepay payment method on the same phone.
