Part of the Enhanced Caller Name family of solutions, Notify When Present (NWP) is an optional feature that notifies the calling party when a previously called customer becomes available on the network. The NWP feature operates much like the callback feature on wire line networks in that the caller is notified when the called party becomes available. However, the caller must initiate another outgoing call to the called party.
NWP may also be used by employers attempting to contact traveling workers and other employees as soon as they arrive at their destination or otherwise return to a coverage area. The Notify When Present feature is also useful to families. A simple example is: by simply turning on a handset, one spouse could notify the other that they safely arrived at their destination.
NWP enhances the value of the missed calls solution and will increase calls terminated to the mobile customer due to real time notification of their availability. Operators can charge a low monthly fee for this feature even if missed calls solution is provided for free. NWP can be also be incorporated with GVPN-SMB.
