Virtual Caller ID (VCID) is part of the Enhanced Caller Name family of solutions. VCID is a low-cost yet efficient and useful missed calls notification solution. VCID captures missed call information for handsets that are turned off, out of network coverage, or otherwise unavailable. VCID then delivers via SMS the missed call information to the handset as soon as it becomes available. The missed call SMS alert may be delivered directly to the handset by VCID or it can be sent to the operator's SMSC for delivery to the handset.

Operators typically realize increased ARPU on an average of 3%-5% and VCID increases mobile originated calls from prepay and postpay customers because information about missed calls is provided to them.
