Wireless Caller Name (WCN), part of the Enhanced Caller Name family of solutions from ITS, is a service that provides mobile telecom customers additional information so they can better manage incoming calls. WCN allows customers to see the name and number of incoming callers even if the callers are not in the customer's address book. WCN also provides the name of the mobile customer to the called party when the call is placed to a wireline phone.
WCN gives operators another way to differentiate themselves from the competition. WCN can be offered as a subscription service and marketed as an enhancement to CLI. And it is simple to communicate the value and benefit to customers as many are familiar with similar Caller Name display services on fixed phones and accustomed to paying a monthly fee for this service.
Among WCN's other features is Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) with the optional delivery of city and state information if no caller name can be resolved. Other features include Redirecting Name Delivery (RND), Calling Name Restriction (CNAR), Subscriber Preferred Language, NPA split support and the ability to query external third party name databases. WCN seamlessly integrates with our Virtual Caller ID so the name and number of the calling party are also displayed for missed call notifications. This makes WCN an essential component of any wireless network looking to gain parity with landline services or for those service providers looking for service differentiation.
